‘Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a central university established by an act of parliament in 1985 under the ministry of Human Resources Development,Government of India.IGNOU is to provide access to higher education to all segments of the society.It offers programme through Open and Distance Learning Mode.One can study IGNOU programme at their own place,pace and as per their convenient for acquiring higher degree at affordable costs.It is the largest University in the world.
IGNOU Study Centre Phek:
IGNOU Study Centre-2037 Phek Government College was formally Inaugurated by the then Deputy Commissioner of Phek Shri.Murohu Chotso on 16th June,2016 in the presence of Regional Director Dr.T.Iralu,IGNOU Regional Centre Kohima.
Programme Activated at Phek Study Centre:
1.MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Master of Arts in Political Science(MPS)
Eligibility:Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree from a recognized University.
Duration:Minimium 2 years and maximum 5 years,offered in both Janaury and July cycle of admissions.
Fee Structure:Rs.9000/- for full programme to be paid year wise @Rs.4500/- per year.
2.BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMME
B.A-(Bachelor of Arts)
Eligibility:10+2 or its equivalent or BPP from IGNOU
Duration:minimum 3 years and maximum 6 years,offered both in Janaury and July cycle of admissions.
Fee Structure:Rs.6000/- for full programme to be paid year wise @ 2000/- per year.
BPP- Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme(BPP)
Eligibility:No formal Qualification,Minimum age-18 years.
Duration:Minimum 6 months and maximum 2 years,offered in both Janaury and July cycle of admissions.
Fee Structure:Rs.1000/- for full programme.
3.DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
DCE- Diploma in Creative Writing in English
Eligibility:10+2 or any one without 10+2 but age should be 20 years or above.
Duration:Minimum 1 year and maximum 4 years,offered in both Janaury and July cycle of admissions.
Fee Structure:Rs.3000/- for full programme.
4.CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME
CES-Certificate in Environmental Studies
Eligibility:10+2 or its equivalent or BPP from IGNOU.
Duration:Minimum 6 months and maximum 2 years,offered in both Janaury and July cycle of admissions.
Fee Structure:Rs.2000/- for full,programme.
CTE-Certificate in Teaching of English as a Second Langauge.
Eligibility:Graduation or 3 years of B.EL.ED or 2 years PTI,ETT or 10+2 with 2 years teaching experience.
Duration:Minimum 6 months and maximum 2 years,offerd in both Janaury and July cycle of admissions.
Fee Structure:Rs.2000/- for full programme.
CYCLE OF ADMISSION:
The University has two cycles of admission –January and July session. The admission for January session are held during September to December and July session admission from May to July.There is a minimum and Maximum duration for each courses.
TERM END EXAMINATION(TEE):
Exams are conducted twice a year June and December at IGNOU Study Centres.
If the learner is not able to appear Exam in June,then he/she can wait only for six months to appear the exam in December etc.
A learner in IGNOU has the flexible option to appear Exams from any existing exam centre in the country.
All Certificates/Diplomas/Degrees are recognized at par with the regular programmes of all the Universities in India by UGC, NCTE, AIU, AICTE and other statutory bodies in the respective areas.
NOTE:
A student can apply for appearing exam in any exam centre of IGNOU throughout the country.
