Add- on Courses with Certificate

The College offers two vocationalisation courses, both of which are funded under RUSA Vocationalisation Project 2015. The two courses, Mushroom Cultivation and Floriculture, are of six months duration. Mushroom Cultivation can be taken as a CBCP* (Choice Based Credit Paper) or, as an Add- on Course by any interested person. Floriculture can be taken as an Add- on Course.

(*CBCPs are taken in lieu of EVS- II in the 6th Semester B.A. or B.Sc. Add- on Courses are Certificate courses, which are issued by the College.)

1. The Mushroom Cultivation Course offers both theory and practical classes. There is a mini Mushroom Cultivation Unit specifically set up for this purpose, where students can have a hands- on experience on how to set up mushroom growth rooms and how to grow them under controlled conditions.

2. The Floriculture Course offers both theory and practical classes. A polyhouse and green- house have been built where students are trained to prepare flower beds, maintain their growth and harvest flowers like Lilium, Chrysanthemum, Gladioli, Alstromeria, Snapdragon, etc.

3. Proficiency in English can be taken as a CBCP. During the course of study, the students are taught the basics of phonetics, varieties and differences in the British, American and Indian English, grammar and proficiency in English skills. Those with basic English knowledge can hone their skills by undergoing this course of study.
