Phek Government College, along with the rest of the world, observed the World Environment Day 2026 on 5th June 2026 on the college campus with Principal Dr. K Zumomo Ovung as the main speaker. Dr. K. Zumomo Ovung, stressing on the importance of the theme “Inspired by Nature, for Climate, For our Future”, told the gathering that nature does not need humans, but humans need nature, and encouraged everyone to do their own bit in protecting nature. The programme was chaired by Ms. Velulu Khesoh, Asst. Prof Dept. of English, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Nisekhoto Nise Asst. Prof Dept. of Zoology. Earlier Dr. Tsotalu Nakro Asst. Prof Dept of History invoked God’s blessing for the day.
