The Department of Political Science Phek Government College under the guidance of Assistant Professor and HoD Shri Ronald Difoe and Assistant Professor Smti Nivi Achumi undertook an Academic field study under the New Education Policy on the paper Democratic Awarness and Legal Literacy by visiting District and Session Judge Court Phek and Police Station Phek.
An open ended interactive session was done with Judge Neiko Akami whereby he encourage the students to take up law and taught them to be a responsible citizens. Resource person Vetho Vero briefed the students on a series of themes like law, constitution, legal aid, IPC CrPc etc.
This was followed by a short visit to the Police Station and a short briefing was given by Shri Sosang Jamir SDPO Phek on the procedures of filling FIR in the presence of Additional SP Shri Bendang Jamir.
This field study cum exposure is organised by the college under SEC to familiarise students of different Government institutions and its functions in the District.
