Report on Field Trip to Bailey Bridge (Phek-Ketsapo road) by Environmental Science Department, Phek Government College
The Department of Environmental Science, Phek Government College organized a field trip to the Bailey Bridge on Phek-Ketsapo road (Mulotiru River) for the Disaster Management course under Skill Enhancement Course for bachelor’s degree both in Science and Arts stream on the 27th of February 2025.
A total of 44 students from the 4th semester (both Science & Arts) were accompanied by the Environmental Science HoD, Mrs Vilhoutuonuo Theunuo, Dr Neilhousano Nakhro & Ms Shesalu Lohe of Botany Department and Mr. Lidemo B.Kithan of Physics Department. The objective of this educational trip was to enhance students’ understanding of disaster management in these disaster-prone areas where landslides were common. The faculties highlighted on the strategies of community-based preparedness before and after the disaster has struck. The field trip fosters a deeper sense of responsibility among the students by bringing theory to practice.
