
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Phek Government College (PGC) organised an employment linked career guidance programme on aviation and hospitality and cruise line sector in India and overseas on February 12.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Eagle Crest Training Academy and Consultancy (ECTAC), Dimapur, with Imsumeren, hospitality trainer-cum-business development executive, as the resource person.
An update from the college stated that the resource person spoke briefly on ECTAC, a training and consultancy institute, registered under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, National Skills Development Corporation, Skill India Institutional, Government of India, for aviation, hospitality and cruiseline sector.
He elaborated on aviation, hospitality and cruiseline sector and also highlighted on the eligibility criteria, training process, placement opportunities, campus recruitment, salary package and skill loan scheme that could be availed by the students.
It mentioned that the skill loan scheme is an initiative of the ECTAC, in collaboration with IDAN, Government of Nagaland. He emphasised on the cordial, warm and accommodating nature of the citizens residing in northeast India with steadfast learning abilities that are added advantages in those sectors.
It was followed by question and answer session with regards to course duration, fee structure and placements.
According to the resource person, trainees only fail to get placements because they refuse to sit for interviews or give up on applying.
Report stated that ECTAC and Phek Government College signed an MoU for 5 years to foster future collaborations, wherein ECTAC would help train students of the college with internship opportunities.
