One-day seminar on the theme ‘safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage’ was held on August 12, 2017 at Phek Government College (PGC), organized and sponsored by PGC in collaboration with Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Nagaland Chapter with INTACH Nagaland Chapter convenor Sentila T. Yanger, as resource person.
While pointing the main purpose of the seminar as awareness of safeguarding cultural heritage through identification and documentation, Sentila T. Yanger, stated that it was the responsibility of every individual to recognize and celebrate intangible cultural heritage and exploring the potentials for sustainable community development.
She also reminded the participants to identify undocumented knowledge to promote tourism and empower communities.
The seminar was attended by people from neighbouring villages, students, teaching facilities and special invitees.
